Dr. Virginia G. Carter, executive director of the .Kentucky Humanities Council, received an Honorary Doctorate of Humanities Degree from Union College at the spring commencement ceremony May 3. Browns finish 1-2 Michael L. Brown and Michael W. Brown of Lafayette High School took first and second place in a chemistry competition at UK.

It seems that Erie Mayor Joe Sinnott has an eye for art. Works from Stairways Center for Arts Humanities are being exhibited on the fifth floor of City Hall, 626 State St., and will rotate over time in a show of support for the center's clients that will continue indefinitely.
